2008 Sally’s Hill Shiraz tasting notes.
Has a beautiful deep violet colour.
The aroma of lovely Pyrenees varietal Shiraz character is dominant, showing freshness and fruit.
Aromas of wild cherry, violets, licorice and oak are also evident.
This full bodied wine has a rich and intense middle palate, yet at the same time is velvety and approachable. Flavours including black cherry, plums, white pepper and some spice are married with wood maturation to create a complete and balanced wine with a lingering, lifted, savoury finish.
This wine has enormous potential to improve in the bottle but is soft and delightful enough to drink now with great enjoyment as an accompaniment to steak, pasta, or almost anything.
